Dispensing medication to the inmates involves more than treating an illness, it is also a moment to check-in with each patient's emotional state. With a background in substance abuse rehabilitation, Linda McCord said: "I came in expecting something different, not having treated inmates before, I just though it would be different, but when I got here I realized that many are here for substance abuse related crimes and that the personalities were familiar so I felt more comfortable."
